The first match of today’s double header in Pepsi IPL 2015 will be played at the PCA Stadium in Mohali between hosts Kings XI Punjab and the Mumbai Indians. Needless to say this 35th Match of IPL 8 is between two struggling yet highly talented teams. Both the Kings XI Punjab and the Mumbai Indians are lagging behind others as far as the IPL 2015 Points Table is concerned. While the Mumbai Indians seemed to be gradually peaking up, the Kings XI Punjab are yet to get their act together as they continue to embarrass their beautiful owner Preity Zinta with continuous defeats.
The Kings XI Punjab vs Mumbai Indians, 35th match at Mohali will begin at 4:oo pm IST. Kings XI Punjab are sitting right at the bottom having won only two matches – one of them was through a Super Over against the Rajasthan Royals. Despite having some of the mightiest of T20 cricketers, the Kings XI Punjab have gone on to lose half a dozen matches which gives them minimal chances of making it to the Qualifiers!
Mumbai Indians also have the big names at their disposal but most of them have failed to fire on a consistent basis. But they seem to be picking up their game with two consecutive wins – defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad by 20 runs and following it up with an 8-run win over the Rajasthan Royals. On the other hand, Kings XI Punjab have only deteriorated further with each game. But they could play the spoiler for the Mumbai Indians if they go on to win this evening’s match at Mohali. Kings XI Punjab have nothing to lose at this stage as their chances of making it to the top four looks very dismal. Can’t say the same for the Mumbai Indians and the pressure will be enormous on them to keep on winning each and every game.
